Benches
How can we enable people to move into meaningful volunteering work? This is one of the questions we askes ourselves during our design thinking workshop in Turin in April 2022. As a group we worked on a concept and prototype to find an answer.
Bridging the gap between interested individuals and NGOs, volunteering organisation, etc. was the basis of our idea. To achieve this we decided on a concept where prospective volunteers can find and match with organisations from different sectors. These different sectors are represented by (virtual) benches in different colours. To get to know the different organisations offering volunteering positions or that are actively looking for volunteers, the interested individual can choose a bench and “sit down” to learn more about an organisation working in the respective sector. The organisations represent themselves through a video where they talk about their work, values, and also who they are looking for (e.g. specific skills they need). When the interested individual finds an attractive organisation they can research more and based on all information decide whether or not the organisation is a fit.
Below you can find an example video for a volunteering organisation.
